CARACTERIZACIÓN LITOLÓGICA Y ESTRATIGRÁFICA DE LA CUENCA DE GONZANAMÁ

Abstract
This research aims to identify the stratigraphic sequences that occur within the Intramontane Basin of Gonzanamá.
The study area is located in the Loja province, south of Ecuador, it is part of the Catamayo, Gonzanamá and Quilanga towns, geologically the Intramontane Basin of Gonzanamá exhibits a base of Oligocene age to which a sequence of sediments belonging to the Gonzanamá Formation.
The Gonzanamá Formation is characterized by three sedimentary members; A transitional sedimentary sequence deposited on the Oligocene basement occurs towards the base, in the intermediate part a sedimentary sequence typical of lake-swamp systems with carbonated sedimentation and, towards the top, a sedimentary sequence with an important volcanic contribution.

Nació en Quito, Ecuador en 1986. Recibió su título de Ingeniero en Geología de la Universidad Central del Ecuador en 2010; Master en Geología y Gestión Ambiental de Recursos Mineros de la Universidad Internacional de Andalucía, España en 2016. Sus campos de investigación están relacionados con la Geología Regional, Cartografía Geológica, Prospección y Exploración Minera. Autor/ coautor de los mapas geológicos nacionales (2012 - 2017), coautor del Mapa Binacional Ecuador - Perú (en edición). Actualmente se desempeña como Geólogo de Exploración en Cruz del Sol SS.AA./SOLGOLD
Gabriela Carolina Andrade, IIGE
Nació en 1988 en Ambato. Ingeniero geóloga graduada de la Universidad Central del Ecuador en 2015, se desempeña como técnico de laboratorio de mineralogía y petrografía, su campo de investigación incluye la elaboración de informes técnicos de análisis macroscópico de muestras de rocas, menas y sedimentos, así como también del análisis microscópico de secciones petrográficas y calcográficas.
