Synthesis of results of the methodological tests for the zoning of susceptibility to mass movements, Zona Zaruma –Paccha scale 1:50 000

Abstract
The Zoning Map of Susceptibility by Mass Movements, scale 1:50 000, from the Zaruma-Paccha area, represents an image of susceptibility under environmental conditions and with the factors used at the time of analysis. Due to their scope, the results they receive serve as a reliable source for the authorities and institutions in charge of risk management and at the same time for regional planning and land use. The delimitation of the susceptibility classes should be taken as a reference and not as absolute values, and it should be clarified that the threats are changing and must be updated according to the geo-environmental variations of the area.

Anibal Roberto Pulupa, Instituto de Investigación Geológico y Energético
Nació en Quito, Ecuador (1983). Ingeniero en Geología de la Universidad Central del Ecuador (FIGEMPA, 2011), en su formación académica y laboral se ha enfocado en el estudio de los Movimiento en Masa. Ha participado como técnico en la elaboración de la Zonificación de Susceptibilidad por Movimientos en Masa, tanto en la Región Sierra como en la Costa. En el proyecto de Investigación Geológica y Disponibilidad de los Recursos Minerales en el Territorio Ecuatoriano ha participado como lider de grupo en la actualización de las hojas geológicas escala 1:100.000. Actualmente se desempeña como Especialista en Geología Regional, Aplicada y Económica de la Dirección de Innovación en el Instituto de Investigación Geológico y Energético (IIGE).
Fausto Carranco, Institute of Geological and Energy Research
He was born in Quito, Ecuador (1983). Geology Engineer from the Central University of Ecuador (FIGEMPA, 2008). Master in Processes and Geological Resources (UCM, 2017). He has worked as a geologist in several private and public companies. Teacher by contract in the Faculty of Geology, Mines, Petroleum and Environmental (UCE). Coordinator of the Threat Susceptibility Zoning Project for Mass Movement Processes of the Ecuadorian Territory. In the project of Geological Research and Availability of Mineral Resources in the Ecuadorian Territory, he has led groups of geologists in the update of geological sheets scale 1: 100,000. Professionally he has specialized in Structural Geology and Geochronology. He currently serves as a Technical Analyst for Innovation and Scientific Direction, and Coordinator of the Ecuadorian Binational Agreement (IIGE) - Peru (INGEMMET), in the area of Regional Geology at the Institute of Geological and Energy Research (IIGE).

Especialista en analisis y gestion de riesgos geologicos por la Universidad de Ginebra, 1992, Ginebra-Suiza. Diploma en gestion integral de riesgos y desastres, version structuralia por el IEA de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, 2009. Profesor de la Facultad de Geologia-Petroleos y de la Facultad de Ingenieria Civil de la Escuela Politecnica Nacional, 1980- 2014.

Tito Vélez, Instituto de Investigación Geológico y Energético
Nació en Loja, Ecuador en 1984. Recibió su título de Ingeniero en Geología Ambiental y Ordenamiento Territorial de la Universidad Nacional de Loja en 2009. Ha participado en el proyecto de "Exploración Sísmica Costa 2D" para Petroproducción, filial de Petroecuador, en el año 2010. Proyecto "Modelo Piloto para la Determinación del Potencial Geológico-Mineralógico de las Zonas Zaruma y Cariamanga a Escala 1:100.000” en el Instituto de Investigación Geológico Minero Metalurgico actual (IIGE) en el año 2012. Adicionalmente, ha participado en el proyecto de Investigación Geológica y Disponibilidad de los Recursos Minerales en el Territorio Ecuatoriano, realizando la actualización de las hojas geológicas escala 1:100.000. Actualmente, se desempeña como geólogo con 7 años de experiencia en el Instituto de Investigacion Geológico y Energético (IIGE).
