Climate change is experienced on a global scale. In 2015, the United Nations invited governments, organizations, and individuals to join Agenda 2030 and to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In this context, universities are identified as key players in promoting sustainable development among students, who are in the process of becoming professional practitioners, and potentially future leaders of their communities.
This essay discusses strategies implemented by Universidad Técnica de Ambato (UTA) to incorporate renewable energy mechanisms in campus Huachi, particularly an aerothermal heating system in the sports centers, to promote sustainability as well as to support the achievement of SDGs on campus.
