Reconstruction the past of earth: Stratigraphic and Sedimentology record of the Tena Formation, Tiwintza – Puerto Morona road
Main Article Content
Abstract
We research presents stratigraphic and sedimentological characteristic of Tena Formation, at Tiwintza to Puerto Morona road, in Morona Santiago Province, to East of the Cutucu Cordillera. In the stratigraphic record of the Tena Formation We have documented twelve (12) lithofacies: three (3) conglomeratics, (5) five sandstones, (4) four limo-clayey. We interpret the transition from braided plains rivers in the base of sequence to meandering alluvial plains towards the middle part of the sequence. This transition is attributed to the first rising pulse of the Andes. It was result of the collision between Caribbean Plateau and Northwestern South-American Margin.
